Black and Milk had the honour of being appointed to renovate an apartment within London's iconic Barbican centre overlooking the lakes and only residents' gardens. The couple, who recently retired, wanted a retreat home within the romantic surroundings of their favourite brutalist inner city. When the client purchased the apartment, it looked as if it was frozen in time with pink fabric walls and bright pops of green paint. It was an exciting challenge for the Black and Milk team to revive the apartment into its original form. The team conducted extensive research to replicate the original Barbican apartment whilst implementing a modernist touch. Great importance on the quality of the materials and design detail was considered when renovating the Grade II-listed flat.
